3M™ Medical Tape 4578 is a single-coated, white spunlace polyester nonwoven fabric medical tape on a roll, consisting of a white spunlace polyester nonwoven backing coated with a pressure-sensitive extended wear acrylate adhesive. It is designed for longer wear applications up to 28 days on skin, offering flexibility, conformability, biocompatibility for intact skin, and secure adhesion to low surface energy surfaces. The tape is EtO sterilization compatible, printable, comfortable during wear, and can be packaged without a release liner while retaining adhesion for extended storage.
• Material: White spunlace polyester nonwoven backing, 100% polyester, printable.
• Adhesive: Extended wear acrylate adhesive, ~4 mil thick, pressure-sensitive acrylic designed for skin contact with excellent adhesion and up to 28-day wear time.
• Liner: 3.5 mil 60 lbs. bleached SCK paper liner with DC silicone release.
• Properties: Flexible and conformable; biocompatible for use on intact skin; comfortable during wear; secure adhesion to low surface energy surfaces; EtO sterilization compatible; tape caliper ~13 mils; printable; able to retain adhesion even if packaged without a release liner.
• Applications: Extended wear medical and retail applications requiring secure attachment to skin for over 21+ days, even if packaged without a release liner; attaching finished devices to skin; material/technology for health care, retail, or medical device construction.
